Jay has been a trusted name in the boating industry since 1994, when he founded St. Clair Yacht Sales at Kean’s Marina in Detroit, Michigan. With a passion for the water and a dedication to connecting people with the perfect vessel, Jay expanded his business in 2015, opening a second location at Desmond Marine in Port Huron, MI. By 2022, he consolidated operations to Desmond Marine, where St. Clair Yacht Sales continues to thrive. Beyond yacht sales, Jay also operates, Jay's Marine, a Marine Supply, Bait & Tackle shop at Desmond Marine, providing boaters and anglers with everything they need for a successful day on the water. When he’s not at the office, Jay enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Renee, and embracing the outdoors—whether it’s boating and fishing in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter. His love for the water and dedication to the boating community continue to shape St. Clair Yacht Sales as a go-to destination for buyers and sellers alike.

Adam Thurau is a dedicated broker and marketing specialist for St. Clair Yacht Sales, bringing his passion for the outdoors and years of hands-on experience to the boating industry. An Army veteran, Adam was looking for a new challenge when he joined Jay’s Marine, initially managing the Bait & Tackle side of the business while also handling marketing. His role quickly expanded as he began learning the ins and outs of boat listings, showings, and sales—eventually becoming a full-fledged broker. Today, Adam is an integral part of St. Clair Yacht Sales, combining his expertise in marketing with a keen eye for matching buyers with the right vessel. His background in the military instilled in him discipline, integrity, and a strong work ethic, all of which he brings to every transaction. When he’s not helping clients find their next adventure on the water, Adam is enjoying life with his beautiful wife, Lindsey, their eight children, two dogs, and a flock of chickens. An avid hunter and fisherman, he’s happiest in the great outdoors—whether in the woods, on the water, or at home with his growing homestead.
